Dear Sir Francis Figgott,

I am desired by r Harcourt to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 6th of September in which you make further representations as to the attitude of the Colonial office in the matter of the appointment of Legal Adviser to the Chinese Government. Fe desires me to say that he has nothing to add to the letter which was addressed to you by the Foreign uffice on the 19th of September, 1912, in the terms of which he fully concurred.

r Harcourt desires me to say that he cannot continue the correspondence on this subject.
